TradeKing also received an overall rating of three and a half stars. Cost was rated at four and a half stars and web site usability was rated at three and a half stars. Customer service was given three stars while investment choice and research tools were both rated at two stars. This broker is great for those who are new and just getting involved in options, but is not focused on long- term investors. This was the smallest firm that was surveyed.

Although suitable for all user levels, the recent launch of a platform for active traders was recently added to this broker page (TradeKing Live). Additionally, the site rated this broker firm as having exceptional customer service personnel, where answers are given to consumers instantaneously. Additionally, a new Fixed-income center which offers a laddering tool features a search engine for all traders to use. The broker site offers plenty of tools, and options to trade stock and mutual funds, however, the major con is the lack of international offerings to consumers.

Rated this brokerage as the best in customer service. With face-to-face meeting, online answers, and quick responses to all consumer questions, this firm really knows how to treat their investors.

Too many glitches. Do not open up your account with Tradeking. I’ve lost over $5000 due to their slowness and glitches. All they said was I understand, but you should’ve called earlier. I’m withdrawing all of my money out of this account. Never will trade again with this garbage.WATCH OUT! YOU DO GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

TradeKing is a discount broker that provides trading options for individual traders over both domestic and international markets. TradeKing offers equity trades for $4.95 per trade, which certainly puts them in the upper echelon in terms of price. Their trading interface is clean and easy to use. While TradeKing does not offer full access to international markets, most of the large foreign issues can be traded.

For a discount broker, there are quite a number of options available that are typically reserved for full service brokers, which was very welcome. In the last year, TradeKing switched clearing houses which was well-communicated to account holders. Their staff thoroughly explained the process to account holders and communicated and explained changes offered. However, as a result of these changes, certain features were disabled, the largest of which was the removal of certain features of the dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP). DRIP plans allow investors to purchase whole or fractional shares with dividends received without paying a commission. While the DRIP option is still available, it only allows DRIP investments for whole shares.

Before the conversion to a new clearing house, both whole and fractional shares were allowed. When discussed with the staff of TradeKing, they were exploring options for adding the purchase of fractional shares, but no timeline was offered. The staff was helpful and courteous, and even waived the commission fees on certain trades.

Overall, TradeKing is a discount broker that provides quality service at an effective price. While cheaper alternatives exist, TradeKing hits a sweet spot in pricing that is cheaper than many of the larger brokerage houses (TD Ameritrade, Fidelity), but provides better service than a lot of the smaller brokerage houses (SogoTrade, Zecco). While certain features are available that are typically reserved for more expensive full service brokers, such as better access to international markets, other options are not fully available such as DRIP plan purchases of fractional shares. Overall, TradeKing was an easy site to navigate and an excellent choice for investors who don't require these services

With so many brokerage company in stocks online trading today, Tradeking is one of the best.  The company is able to exceed customer satisfaction that is why it has won many awards.  These include best choice and customer-satisfaction related awards.  Just like any brokerage companies, Tradeking has its pros and cons. Just to name one of its cons, Tradeking will charge extra for trading low priced stocks.  On the other hand, there are many benefits that the Tradeking offers.  Since, this company is the first one to introduce social networking in the stock trading market it builds professional, well-experienced, and a helpful community. It is really a great help to gather insights and ideas from other experienced traders.
